The Nicolaas Witsen Foundation is currently carrying out several major projects in the field of public administration reform:
Civil Service Reform Project (Administrative Reform II), Tacis, Russia
A three-year project to support comprehensive public administration reform in Russia. The project seeks to contribute to the creation of a professional, accountable and ethical civil service by assisting the Presidential Administration in improving civil service policy and management and developing programmes for the (re)training of civil servants.
Public Administration and Civil Service Reform Project, DFID, Russia
A major, three-year project designed to assist the Government of the Russian Federation in improving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of its public administration and civil service by developing and implementing reform programmes and initiatives.
Implementing Key Measures of the Programme for the Implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, Bulgaria
A strategic project designed to strengthen public sector transparency and accountability by establishing clear and effective rules concerning the citizen/civil servant interface and by opening up the decision making process to citizen consultation.
Support to the Development of Standards for Civil Service Provision, Tacis, Kazakhstan
A three-year project to assist the Government of Kazakshtan in developing performance standards and indicators for public services in selected ministries and regions, introducing citizen's charters and establishing a one-stop shop in Astana.

Support to the Reform of the Government and Central Organs of Executive Power, Ukraine
A major, complex project working with the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to implement key topics on the administrative reform agenda in six-monthly cycles through the provision of inter-active policy and legal advice, managerial support and training.
Strengthening of Government Administration and Assistance to the Civil Service, Uzbekistan
The first public administration reform project in Uzbekistan, working directly with the Cabinet of Ministers and the Presidential Apparat to develop a comprehensive framework for the civil service, corresponding legislation, managerial reform and training at national, regional and local levels.
Addressing the Social Impact of Restructuring Privatised Enterprises, Ukraine
A major, bi-polar reform project working with the Cabinet of Ministers and the City of Kharkiv to develop a sustainable model for the transfer of social assets and services from enterprises to municipalities and/or other bodies. |
